How do I register?

It’s easy — simply visit www.AHAAConvention.com.

Where and when is it being held?

Convention will be held at Bally’s, Las Vegas, from Wednesday, February 14, to Saturday, February 17, 2018.
Registration opens at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, followed by our popular Vendor Pre-Conference Sessions and then our Welcome Reception in the evening. We wrap up Convention on Saturday with a hands-on opportunity to apply what you’ve learned directly to your practice, with guidance from AHAA.

What happens at Convention?

Our annual Convention is always about connections — keeping you connected to your patients, our industry, your peers, and solutions to keep your practice moving forward. In just a few days, you’ll gain unparalleled business insights that will help your practice thrive as soon as you get home!

Why should I attend this event? What makes it more beneficial than other industry events?

Due to the wide breadth of insight and expertise AHAA possesses, our Convention is THE premier business-focused event for our industry and an investment in your future! No other event provides attendees with a better understanding of the issues they face and guidance as to how they can move their practices ahead of their competition.

Who should I bring with me?

Bring every member of your practice! Every person in your office is integral to your business’ success and we have classes for front office staff, directors of operations, practice development representatives, telemarketers, and audiologists/dispensers. Use your time at Convention to boost team morale and show your appreciation for all their hard work.

You can also bring your family before or after and extend your trip with a little vacation time! Our hotel rates are available three days prior to Convention and three days after, subject to availability.

How do I justify the cost of attending Convention?

We appreciate that both your time and budget are limited, but what if what you learn at Convention helps you sell just two more hearing aids — you would cover your expenses and put your practice on a course to sell many more!

Convention positions our Associates to benefit from growth opportunities the minute they return home:

  • Based on the information learned at Convention and applied right away, attendees saw unit growth of 17 percent the next month and first-time attendees experience an average of 28 percent increase in sales after attending Convention.
Is there a way to offset some of the registration cost?

Absolutely! Our manufacturing partners believe in the value of Convention so much that they want to help defray your costs. Simply buy your hearing aids from them — something you do already — and earn credits toward the cost to attend Convention!

How does the subject matter change from year to year?

One constant in our industry is change, and our Convention not only reflects those changes, but keeps you out in front! Benefit from our expertise and stay connected — to your patients, our industry, your peers, and solutions for success!

What if I cannot afford to close my office for Convention?

Convention is a commitment that can turn into opportunities for big gains relatively quickly! Associates that attend regularly view their time away as an investment in their business and typically become our biggest success stories. The event can also serve as an effective annual staff retreat that re‐energizes everyone involved.

Does Convention provide any Continuing Education Units (CEUs)?

Yes. Convention fulfills up to 1.1 CEUs or 11 CEU hours. The exact number depends on which classes you attend. (AAA credits are not available.)

How do the AHAA training classes differ from Convention?

Our regional training classes and annual Convention exist for different reasons and provide different course work.

Our training classes focus on procedures and methods of doing your job while our Convention examines the strategies you need to implement to keep your practice moving forward.

One of the greatest benefits of attending Convention is the opportunity to interact with your peers and learn what is and is not working at other practices throughout the country — something not easily accomplished during training classes.

How much access will I have to industry manufacturers?

Manufacturers are always a big part of Convention and we could not provide an effective event without their support! We also realize that Convention attendees want plenty of time to speak with and learn from our vendor partners so we adjust our schedule to maximize your opportunities to interact with them and hear their perspectives firsthand.

How many individuals attend Convention?

More than 400 Associates typically join us at Convention. It is the one time of year when the entire AHAA community comes together and there is no better time to network and establish new relationships amongst your peers.

What type of speakers present at the AHAA Convention?

Your peers regularly attend Convention to hear from those who know — AHAA’s own executives are regarded as our industry’s elite experts! We catch you up on what’s current in our industry and what you can expect in the year ahead. Our insight is supplemented by a number of guest speakers who will inform and motivate you.

This year we welcome Human Connection Expert and Keynote Speaker, Colette Carlson. At the heart of every sale, every interaction between a leader and a team member, and every conversation with a customer is a connection. Colette will help you make those connections effective and leverage them for greater success.

Why Las Vegas?

Why not Las Vegas? Actor and comedian Drew Carey said it best: “Everything and anything you want to do, you can do in Las Vegas.” More than 42 million visitors enjoy Vegas every year and, despite the slogan, we believe you’ll want to share all that you did and learned at AHAA Convention in Las Vegas.

What is the dress code?

Please leave the suits (and lab coats) at home and dress comfortably in business casual attire.

Do I need to bring my schedule with me?

If you register for specific sessions, please feel free to print your itinerary and bring it with you. There will be a schedule included in your welcome bag as well as large schedules located throughout the Convention areas. We also encourage you to download AHAA’s mobile event app, which has a full event schedule, contact information for other attendees, and details about speakers, exhibitors, sponsors, and more. Due to hardware and logistic constraints, however, there will be nothing onsite to print personal schedules.

During your time at Convention, should you need something or have any questions, please flag down anyone from AHAA (there will be many of us floating around) and we will do our best to help.

What entertainment will be featured?

We always host at least one world-class, published speaker to provide insight and inspiration on how individuals and businesses can sharpen their ability to reach customers. This year, we welcome Human Connection Expert and Keynote Speaker, Colette Carlson.

At the heart of every sale, every interaction between a leader and a team member, and every conversation with a customer is a connection. On Thursday, Colette will help you make those connections effective and leverage them for greater success.

On Friday evening, we present our annual awards gala, followed by a sit-down dinner. As in previous years, AHAA hosts an after-dinner party with dancing and music. This entire after-hours event is always a good time and a great way to celebrate your staff and another great year!

What can I expect the weather to be like?

For those of you who get spring fever long before winter is over, Las Vegas is the city for you! The average February daytime temperature in Las Vegas reaches a comfortable 65 degrees and dips down to 41 degrees overnight. A light jacket will be perfect to take the chill off any cool evenings we experience.

What are the transportation options from and to the airport?
