How do I register?

Our registration couldn’t be easier — simply visit www.AHAAConvention.com.

Where and when and is it being held?

The conference will be held at the Marriott Orlando World Center, Orlando, Florida, from Wednesday, February 22, to Saturday, February 25, 2017.

Registration opens at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, followed by our popular Day-Ahead Vendor Presentation Series and then our Welcome Reception in the evening. Convention ends on Saturday with the opportunity to apply what you’ve learned specifically to your practice, with guidance from AHAA.

What happens at Convention?

In a word, we…learn, network, build relationships, and exchange ideas! Our Convention is a unique opportunity to learn from others’ successes and failures. In just a few days, you’ll gain unparalleled business insights and experiences that can be put into practice as soon as you get home.

Why should I attend this event? What makes it any different than other industry events?

Due to the wide breadth of insight and expertise AHAA possesses, our Convention is THE premier business-focused event for our industry and an investment in your future! No other event provides attendees with a better understanding of the issues they face and guidance as to how they can move their practices ahead of their competition.

Who should I bring with me?

Bring every member of your practice! Every person in your office is integral to your business’ success and we have classes for front office staff, managers, practice development representatives, telemarketers, and audiologists/dispensers. Use your time at Convention to boost team morale and show appreciation to your employees. You could also bring your family before or after and extend your trip with a little vacation time! Our hotel rates are available three days prior to Convention and three days after, subject to availability.

How do I justify the cost of attending Convention?

We understand that both your time and your budget are limited, but consider this: If what you learn at Convention helps you sell just two more hearing aids, you have covered your expenses — and put your practice on a course to sell many more!

Our Associates often gain a measurable return as a result of their investment in Convention — on average, first time attendees experience a 28 percent increase in sales after attending Convention.

How can I offset some of the registration cost?

Our manufacturing partners believe in the value of Convention so much that they want to help defray your
costs! Simply buy your hearing aids from them — something you do already — and earn credits toward the
cost to attend Convention!

Will the subject matter be different than last year's Convention?

Everything about our industry changes from year to year — so does our Convention! There will be significant amounts of new information and training focused on the most relevant industry developments that has never been presented before.

What if I cannot afford to close my office for Convention?

Convention is a commitment that often turns into an opportunity to make big gains in a short time. Associates that attend regularly view time spent at our Convention as an investment in their business and usually become our biggest success stories. The event can also be an effective annual staff retreat that reenergizes everyone involved.

Does Convention provide any Continuing Education Units (CEUs)?

Yes! Convention fulfills up to 1.1 CEUs or 11 CEU hours. (AAA credits are not available.)

Will the material be the same as AHAA training classes I recently attended?

Our regional training classes and annual Convention exist for different reasons and we put a lot of thought into both. Our training classes have specific focuses on procedures and methods of doing your job, while our Convention is more about the strategies you will need to implement in order to keep your practice moving forward.

One of the greatest benefits of attending Convention is the opportunity to interact with your peers and learn what is and is not working at other practices throughout the country — something that is not easily accomplished during training classes.

How much opportunity will I have to learn about what hearing instruments are on the market and what is planned for the future?

Manufacturers are always a big part of Convention. Most of the major manufacturers in the industry attend the event, exhibit their latest models, and share the services they offer. It is a great chance to see and compare major manufacturers in one place, at one time.

How many people typically attend Convention?

More than 400 Associates typically join us at Convention. Since it is the one time of year when the entire AHAA membership comes together, there is no better time to network and establish new relationships amongst your community.

What type of speakers present at the AHAA Convention?

Your peers regularly attend Convention to hear from those who know! AHAA’s own executives are regarded as our industry’s elite experts and we will host several guest speakers that will both inform and motivate you. We will catch you up on all of our industry’s news and give you an idea of what you can expect in the next 12 months.

Why Orlando?

Orlando’s great weather and excellent hotels, spas, shopping, and golf courses help make it one of the top vacation destinations in the U.S. The region’s theme parks attract a tremendous amount of tourists each year.

This will be my first Convention...how should I dress?

First of all, thank you for attending and we look forward to seeing you in Orlando! Please leave the suits (and lab coats) at home and dress comfortably in business casual attire.Your peers regularly attend Convention to hear from those who know! AHAA’s own executives are regarded as our industry’s elite experts and we will host several guest speakers that will both inform and motivate you. We will catch you up on all of our industry’s news and give you an idea of what you can expect in the next 12 months.

Will you provide a schedule or do I need to bring one with me?

We will supply you with one when you check in. If you should need something or have questions at any time
during Convention, please flag down anyone from AHAA (there will be many of us floating around) and we
will do our best to help.

You can also download AHAA’s mobile event app, which has a full event schedule, contact information for
other attendees, and details about speakers, exhibitors, sponsors, and more.

What entertainment will be featured?

We always host at least one world-class, published speaker to provide insight and inspiration on how businesses and individuals can sharpen their ability to reach customers. Stay tuned to learn more!

Our annual awards presentation is on Friday evening, followed by a sit-down dinner. As in previous years, AHAA will host an after-party with dancing and music when dinner has concluded. This entire after-hours event is always a good time and a great way to celebrate your staff and another great year!

What can I expect the weather to be like?

For those of you who get spring fever long before winter has had its say, Orlando is the right city for you! The average February daytime temperature in Orlando reaches a comfortable 73 degrees and dips down to 60 degrees overnight. A light jacket will be perfect to take the chill off any cool evenings we experience.

What are the transportation options from and to the airport?
